Kennedy-King Memorial College Scholarship Fund, Ltd.

Founded in memory of Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. and Senator Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, we provide $8000 college scholarships to students from minority groups underrepresented at California's four-year colleges and universities with financial need and who have demonstrated academic success at one of the three community colleges in Contra Costa County.

Our scholars have completed at least two years of study at Contra Costa College, Diablo Valley College, or Los Medanos College, and have been accepted at a four-year university to complete their undergraduate studies. The vast majority of our scholars go on to complete their degrees on schedule.

We also offer $4000 scholarships for graduate study to previous recipients of our undergraduate scholarships.

During the 39 years since our founding we have granted over $2,000,000 in scholarships to more than 500 students. We are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff or office space. Over 90% of all contributions go directly to students. (Please check out our financial statements).
