The annual Kennedy-King Memorial College Scholarship Banquet, provides donors and guests an opportunity to meet the amazing students their donations support. Recipients are invited to tell their stories. Each story is an inspiring mix of hard work, determination, personal struggle and an overwhelming desire to further their education for themselves, their families and their communities.
The dinner, held the third Friday in May each year, is the primary fund raising event for the foundation. Friends of Kennedy-King are invited make a donation toward a scholarship, purchase an advertisement in the program book, and attend the dinner.
This year's dinner will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Concord Hilton beginning at 6:15 p.m. Individual tickets will cost $75, and sponsorships that include multiple seats are available. To reserve your place at this year's dinner, please RSVP by email. Tell us how many seats you will purchase and the names of the people who will use those seats. VIP Reception
Kennedy-King hosts a VIP reception each year to thank our past donors and to encourage new friends to become donors to the fund.
Traditionally, this event is held on the third Sunday in March from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at various locations throughout Contra Costa County. The event provides an opportunity for our contributors to meet previous scholarship recipients, community leaders, college staff and members of the Board of Directors of Kennedy-King. Each year the Board of Directors selects an outstanding member of the community for recognition for his/her support of Kennedy-King and for outstanding community service.
